etson, my friends’ apartment was AMAZING. I didn’t see the Soviet style part of the island, I guess. They live in the River Road complex of apartment buildings, which I found out later were built in the 70s but are landmarked.
I drove right off the 36th Ave bridge into the garage near their place, so didn’t really even see the island. But their apartment was on the 19th floor, higher than any surrounding buildings, right on the river with West and southern views. In fact the Western wall seemed to almost hang over the river, no view of land. The western and southern side of the apartment were all huge windows and the city night scene and the East River were breathtakingly beautiful. I realized that there are many great ways to live in this city and theirs’ is one.
Some consider puns sacrilegious.
“Argh, puns. They really are the work of the devil.”
You’re preaching to the converted. You aren’t going to altar anyone’s views here.
*********PUNS??????**************
[whimpering]
Biffy – You’ll be crucified by the pun haters.
Lech, perhaps you should read the lyrics. Not all Atheists and Agnostics are “commies”.

etson is a wise man.
lechacal,
I don’t know if the song was commie,
but it sure got a lot of kids in trouble
talking about religion.
