Dexter is a serial killer who has channeled his evil compulsion for good (he kills other serial killers). But what makes him like you is that he does things like get married and have children so he can seem normal to the outside world. He consciously makes choices that he sees normal people making to keep up his front.
I don’t think anyone thinks you’re a serial killer though. It’s just that Dexter is always talking about putting up the normal front, and you’ve mentioned that you do the same.
