Back in Ghana in 2003 (not sure how it is now) it was very shameful to be HIV+ and most would hide it. There was a group of HIV+ folks that went around giving speeches to try to show it was okay to go public with your status. Thing is, the leader of the group had a weird way of going about it, he would brag about all of the countries he’d got to visit and people he had met (Bono, I think) because of being HIV+. His message seemed to be, don’t look down on me, having this disease has allowed me to do all these things that you haven’t. Strange spokesman.

You are right, better to block the unpleasantness out.
But if they get more aggressive, it would be nice to fling out some throwing stars or poison tipped blow darts. 😉
