  1. Cobble, I wait with baited breath for the response to that one!

Here’s a wiki page for Ted Kennedy’s incident:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chappaquiddick_incident

and also one for Laura Bush’s:
On the night of November 6, 1963, Laura Welch ran a stop sign, causing a fatal car accident that killed her friend in another car.[8][9] The driver of the other car was her close friend and classmate Michael Dutton Douglas. By some accounts, he had been Welch’s boyfriend at one time.[10] Welch and her passenger, both 17, were treated for minor injuries.[11] According to the accident report released by the city of Midland in 2000, in response to an open-records request, she was not charged in the incident.[11][12] Bush’s spokesman said, “It was a very tragic accident that deeply affected the families and was very painful for all involved, including the community at large.”[11] In her book Spoken from the Heart, she says that the accident caused her to lose her faith “for many, many years”.[13]

  2. It’s interesting to me to note that two people here that have complained the loudest about the Kennedys also happen to have enormous chips on their shoulders about where they come from, their place in the world and what they have achieved.

Does it really pain you so to see good works by well known people recognized? Must you spend your time knocking them down. Does this make you feel better about your life?

“over-rated” — seriously? Such blithe commentary on the life’s work of a person. Reflects the mind of someone who has little respect for anyone.

It all just sounds like sour grapes to me.

I agree with MM, Teddy Kennedy had to live every day with the knowledge of what happened, and no one knew more clearly than him. And he worked incredibly hard serving his country as a much loved senator and accomplished a great deal more and made a larger impact than most will accomplish in their lifetimes.

  3. I don’t think Bobby Kennedy was over rated. Had he lived, I think he would have been the greatest of the Kennedy’s.

Ted made big mistakes in his youth, and maybe got away with perhaps manslaughter, maybe, we’ll never know. That said, he spent the rest of his life becoming the elder statesman who was beloved and respected by his peers on both sides of the aisle. He did quite a lot of good in his life, and should be respected for it. I would have been proud to call him my senator, had I lived in Mass. and he was far from a disgrace.

  4. My take on the Kennedy’s:

Joe Kennedy (the son, not the father): American Hero.

Jack Kennedy: Great president. Classy (at least his public persona).

    Bobby Kennedy: over-rated

Ted Kennedy: a disgrace. Got away with murder (literally).

Patrick Kennedy – don’t know enough about him to make a statement.

  5. quote:
Watty & Meg has a good burger, but it’s $15 smackers

:-/ yes if anyone is going to the flea on sunday, i think i might go, text me or something. text directions too tho

  6. I am hours and hours behind, trying to catch up but everyone probably left already. Expert Texpert, talk to us about childproofing when your child is old enough to walk, or, say, climb out of his crib! That said, I started with a 23-month-old who didn’t really need childproofing. But I didn’t know that until I got her and took her home.
