Biff, I dread the day I do finally buy a house and have to navigate decision landmines with the wife on furniture choices, paint color, tiles, appliances,… it was so so so much easier when it’s just me deciding it all.

No doubt, they put in the hours.
Over the years though, they have gained a seat at the table in major areas outside their traditional reach.
As infectious disease specialists, as nurse anesthetists, as wound care specialists, as hospital administrators, etc.
I believe there is a doctorate in nursing now.
That being said, I wouldn’t trade places, but for someone contemplating choices in college at this time, it’s a hard sell to tell them to go for another 4 years @ 50- 75K a year, then put off everything for another 3-6 years of residency. While the RN starts making a living at age 22 and can move up the ladder quickly with vacation, benefits and no malpractice.

M4L, I would actually subway there except we’re going to have renovations done, so Mrs C wants to go to some places to look at whatever people look at when renovating. Plus, we have to get The Champs somewhere first in the morning. Thus, I decided to borrow a friend’s car at my friend’s insistence. Friend will be repaid with a full gas tank and a some full shot glasses and/or beer mugs.
