How much of an impact do you think politics has to play in population changes between states?

It’s primarily about taxes.

I recognize that there are regional issues at play, but I don’t think that tells the whole story. A state’s policies do affect the business climate and by extension, its population. Some states in the industrial midwest are doing well, while others are stuck in no-growth policies.
