The other major reason I think it’s wise to step back and interfere very carefully is that Libya’s illustrous leader is totally bark-at-the-moon bonkers. You can pretty much predict what most leaders will or won’t do, or how long their generals will allow them to foam at the mouth. Here? The man is totally unpredictable. From the stuff he says, the assurances that he’s not firing on his own people, when you can SEE he’s doing just that, and other indications of not having all four paws on the ground, I think proceeding with great caution is the way we aught to go here.
