the heart i probably know much more about since I get a rundown on lots of arrythmia problems, devices, electophysiology and ablation procedures when other half gets home from work each day. I hear tons more cardiology than I could ever comprehend.
On Tashirojima, an island about 9 miles off the coast of Japan, cats outnumber its 100 aging human residents, and luckily, all survived the devastating 9.0-magnitude earthquake and tsunami that hit the country last week. But both the feline and human residents of “Cat Island,†like so many others, are in desperate need of aid.
According to Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support, the people and cats of Tashirojima are short of food, but an army helicopter with supplies was on the way. The organization also asked that cat food be provided, too.
The feral cat population on Tashirojima exploded after fishermen brought the pets to curb the island’s growing rat population. The cats are valued for their beauty and companionship, and Cat Island, which features a shrine for felines and cat-shaped homes, had become a popular tourist destination for cat lovers.
I love reading papers (including the Times) online. It is much more convenient for me than paper.
I don’t mind paying for the content, but I think their lowest online price of $0.53 a day is high, and their full online price of $1.25 is outrageous, considering their paper delivery price is 1.67 a day and includes the full online access.
I’m not sure what I will do- either bite the bullet and purchase the low end online package or find ways around it through the search engine and Facebook loopholes they mentioned.
I love ethnic music- the anthropologist in me, I guess, especially Celtic music. My experience with Jewish music is singing the dreidel song and Rock of Ages in the Jewish/Hebrew version. I kid you not. If I remember correctly we also had a Jewish version of the Battle Hymn of the Republic (and no, not the Allan Sherman version).
pete,
The right and left sides of your heart are also quite different with the left side being larger since it circulates the oxygenated through the entire body. The right side only circulates it through the lungs.
Dona — I’ve seen uillean pipes played standing and sitting, though they are awkward to hold standing. But it’s not just the highland pipes — also the tartan kilts. NYPD seems to have appropriated Scottish culture to celebrate their Irish heritage.
dona — are you suggesting NYPD uses St. Pat’s and funerals as a subterfuge to engage in mass cross-dressing?

I think somebody should tell them (I am convinced they like the freedom of skirts) 🙂
Etson, Like choosing what length blade you want to be stabbed with repeatedly, IMO.
