  1. Gem, most people here are just regular folks like me and you. Some are more successful some are less.

The people at the top got there somehow and sometimes they have to make tough decisions and lay off people in order for the company to keep going and keep others employed.

Yes, there are those that just make more and more (some CEOs) but most corporations don’t lay off people just so someone at the top can get rewarded.

My company has had a fairly good year (I even got a decent raise and bonus) but next year is going to be very tough as we don’t have anything special in product lines and my division is gearing up for losses. There might be lay offs as well but I come in and do my best everyday and if it happens, I wont be angry at the company, evethough the situation in itself will suck.

  2. ooooh – selling new york is on tonight.

    that show is fuckin amazing.

2 weeks ago there was a whole episode dedicated to some 22 year old trust fund girl who’s mom didn’t like her 2,400 a month rental in prime chelsea bc it didn’t have a doorman and insisted she buy her a million dollar apartment so she would be safer.

throughout the whole episode i couldn’t stop thinking about potential *rob* commentary.

  3. Sorry to hear, mopar.
    What is your field?

    “the world just sucks!
    moreover corporations/companies just suck”
This was pretty much my mood from time to time after I got laid off a few years ago.
I blocked it out by taking long walks around Brooklyn!

  4. Thank you so much, everybody. Yes, Dona, I DO need a lawyer! THank you! I’ll be in touch. Now I have to get back to packing my stuff. So confusing to figure out how to export six years of contacts, stories, etc., while I can’t think straight.

  5. Benson – HAAAAA! I know – am just so angry at EVERYONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I just want regular people to be able to get by in life and it’s always the regular person who really gets the shaft due to the greed usually of corporations or executives
