bxgrl – i hate the red cross. while my grandfather was sitting on an air strip in germany during WWII after getting his arm blown off they tried to charge him $$$ for a drink.
yeah – why was it only cool to send money to Haiti for like 2 weeks?
The media lost interest after that. Maybe some celebrity had to go to court on drug charges.
Sean Penn asked Charlie Sheen to go to Haiti with him.
No Charlie Sheen is doing charity work for Japan? Not to say he doesn’t have a good heart in there somewhere, but that he could be come a disaster junkie, trying to eclipse his own core meltdown?
DH- correct on the Red Cross money for 9-11. They did a study of the Salvation Army however and found close to 80% did go to the response. I really dislike a lot of their religious policies, but they set that aside when doing disaster relief and I was proud to work with them. They also brought in the top disaster relief personnel from all over the country and Canada. People who have worked all over the world in major disaster.
They waste no time getting in- in fact there is a well known tape of the Red Cross spokesperson standing down at the WTC site the first day and talking about getting their trucks and food in, how hard it was. Meanwhile, right behind him is the SA truck serving water and food. First in Last out.

Well aren’t you in a pleasant mood today? It was a joke. Try to lighten up.
“OK, I get it. Your buddy Lech is not here, so you feel safe to use movies as a reference source.”

Watched the movie “Inside Job” this weekend (twice, actually).
More hippie-commie rants to come from me this week, for sure.”
