Snappy, same here.
At times, we had a small jungle inside our house growing up.
My dad also did a decent job with houseplants.
My skills also extend to gardening. Our first two houses were single families on large lots. I made a number feeble attempts at planting until giving up. Since then I have only lived in townhouses or apartments.
DIBS, with all of the Mexicans and Asians that pass through your home, I’m surprised at least one of them hasn’t offered to assist to help take care of plants for you.
Asians are great gardeners. Mrs C’s mom brought back to life a rather large plant in our home. Too bad she can’t bring other things back to life!
I will say that the palm I had up in the guest bathroom in the Chinese fishbowl planter does look great in the living room. it was only upstairs while the Christmas tree was up. The one in the TV room crowds the room a bit too much
I’m trying again with plants. I’ve got several flowers planted, two regular plants, several bamboo stalks and some herbs growing. Plus some cat grass to keep the furballs preoccupied so they don’t munch the stuff they shouldn’t. Fingers crossed.
My friend in Philly with the big Victorian house has a magnificent 12′ tall plant…long stalks, tropical, big elepant ear type leaves. Not sure what it’s called but looks great in that setting

I have best luck with snake plant.
Actually Biff, Xing usually tends to their watering and did take care of them last year while I was in P-Town for 2 weeks.
My parents always had super green thumbs. I didn’t inherit that.
