M4L, old man….you may have costochondritis, an inflammation of the connective tissue/cartiledge which holds the ribs in place. You can get it from having a cold or even from exercise (sometimes stress). My doctor poked me in the ribs recently as part of an examination and I almost hit the roof – I have it now. Also, sometimes affects the breastplate, the bones which support the whole ribcage on your upper chest. Take advil and use a heating pad…
