  1. there should be penalties for u.s. based companies that move production jobs overseas.

let them move their corporate offices to bangalore if they don’t like it. don’t see how having a bunch of guys in suits collecting the spoils from cheap labor is worth what they pay in taxes.

  2. “CGar – had to step it up if I wanted to compete with Noki and your e-wife for top honors around here.”

Nonsense! You’re my dating guru! It’s all good.

And at least you aren’t constantly demanding I buy you houses like that Norma Rae I e-married!

  3. ha ha,
Arkady is like a grammer sniper.
She takes up a position high on the hill in a ghillie suit and waits silently for the big post.
When she spots it, she uncovers her sights and expertly takes down it’s speed and direction.
Then it’s blamo with the M-50.

    :o(

ugh. i am 100 % against moonface nail salons. newsflash white chicks don’t know how to do nails (asians arent so great at it either!)

    *rob*

  5. “Besides, if an industry has effectively moved its production offshore, that means that labor within that industry here in the US is just no longer competitive. In an ideal world, the workers are retrained for other jobs. This too is economic reality.”

Dave, this isn’t an ideal world and you know what happens to people when the work dries up so why are you doggin the people that fight with all they have to try and stop having their livelihood and wages taken away from them? Does it kill you that your tax dollars go to support other people?

Gem, there is a nail salon literally across the street from La Taqueria on the 2nd floor, right next to Oshima. They seem to do great business. Also a sign went up in the old space that used to be Living on 7th which says a Nail Salon is coming. I think that’s around 7th and 4th Street.

My wish list for Park Slope includes, BBQ, Keihls, mens clothing store and that’s about it. I really find Park Slope to have a ton of great stuff. Lots is mediocre too, but when you think that Park Slope has 5th for miles, 7th for miles, Flatbush and now some stuff down on 6th Avenue, the neighborhood is jam packed with tons of stuff.

BTW, RUN to Giuseppina’s. I went again and it is seriously off the charts amazing. That place is going to put South Slope on the map in a big way. I think it’s better than Lucali.
