“denton yelled at me telling me it’s not good to eat frozen meals….”
ROFL!!! Obviously, Denton never took care of a child all day, 7 days a week, breastfeeding a newborn.
Cook and freeze as much as you can for as long as you can. AFter the baby, you’re not going to have time to cook. I didn’t/couldn’t cook for two months.
CH – yep will make my lentil soup from scratch next week as that’s easy. my husband makes the chili -will ask him to do it next week too – i will make beef stew
ET – i heard the rectal thermometer is more accurate – so I was thinking of getting that too.
When I freeze chicken or turkey soup that I’ve made, I avoid adding the noodles. They just don;t have the right texture after they’ve been frozen and reheated. You should always add them when you use the soup. Even the veggies shouldn’t be fully cooked.
I mostly freeze chili, my red sauce, Spanish rice (ground beef, rice, green peppers & tomato sauce…baked) and soup.
When a friend of mine was preggers, a bunch of us gave them gift certificates from local restaurants to order in whatever they wanted.

Chicken curries, Stews, Soups.
dibs – gooood idea – I thought that about my lentil soup – to hold off on adding the spinach until the day I eat it!
Fish Tales has a great gumbo that I buy and freeze. I always add more shrimp to it though.

I don’t remember the first time we used the ear thermometer, but he was very young (definitely less than a few months).
We usually take 2 readings. Most of the time they are the same, but occasionally they are different, so we take another 2.
Since each reading only takes a second or two, it is no big deal.
I also don’t really care if the accuracy is off by half a degree or so.
Make chili, that freezes well. Or soups or stews. They all freeze well.
