  1. Oh I bought a bunch of books I think Montrose suggested about Victorian decoration and Victorian interior photography. Very interesting.

    What I learned: Charles Lockwood’s photo probably was from the early 20th century, not older as I claimed.

    The book of interior photographs shows photos of ladies with the same hats and flat-top-instead-of-leg-o’-mutton sleeves and plain skirts like the lady in the photo, and they were dated around 1906. The peaked sleeve crested in 1895.
