Thanks gem. Irvington NY. It’s not very far. It’s a modest house with a modest yard and a driveway. It’s a 3 to 5 minutes walk to the train station, a less than 1 minute walk to the kids school (literally a few houses away) and maybe a 7 minute walk to the village.
For about the price of a 2 bedroom in a mediocre part of the slope with no dedicated parking, no outdoor space, no realistic public school option after 5th grade.
And the best part: I will never commute to work on the F train again.
There are downsides, of course, but I won’t mention any of those until the honeymoon period is over.
“get cats that are 4-5 years old from the shelter. You have a better idea about their personality at that age” –
Do you give same advice to prospective parents?
what does “loan rehabilitation” mean?

Pete, them suburb racoons are feistier than the ones that showed up in the Slope. Lech would need a blood hound
If you can find me a shelter cat that can rappel into beaver dam and break an entire family of beavers necks in their sleep, we’ve got a deal.
No special ops kittie, no dealie.
shelter cats keep the beavers and geese away.
I don’t want shelter cats. Those things will shiv you in your sleep and steal your wallet. No fuckin way.
Jessi – sweet – thanks!-will wait for him to come on
I wish we could get a shelter cat as I always had rescues growing up
Definitely get cats or kittens from a shelter- they make wonderful pets.
the left-right question? I don’t know the answer but my head is spinning.
