Someday there will be world peace and all the lawyers will have to find other work.
And all the maple syrup will be organic, too.
But don’t worry, because global warming might get us first.
> I think parents worry now more than previous generations b/c people in general are just more informed with what is happening out there in the world
gem, you’re falling into that trap as a result of information overload…kinda like googling your ailment and being appalled. As a first-time older parent I was inundated by unnecessary and doomsday scenarios, which I was smart enough to discount for the most part. People love to give you the bad- or worst-case stuff. And there’s plenty to read that will put you over the edge as well.
Remember: parenting was not invented in the last 50 years.
Lech – what your daughter said is totally normal. She made an observation. I love kids b/c they really call it like they see it – no need for you to have to explain anything at that moment to her, you know?
I think I am worried for when my kid comes home and asks why does “so and so” have 2 mommies or 2 daddies and I explain to him that they are like us, a happy loving family and then he says something like Oh I wish I had 2 daddies and my heart will break or if he wishes for 2 mommies my heart will melt -omg I am horrible!
Re the billboard location, my guess is that they put it there because of proximity to the Holland Tunnel. The horror of not moving on a Friday night for an hour or more waiting to get into the tunnel just got more horrific.
Not a fan of the poster but as someone who supports individuals’ rights, including the right to choice, I also have to support the right to free speech. Doesn’t mean I have to like it though.
Someday the world may reach a point where there can be a debate on abortion that results in some sort of wise balance being reached.
Someday there will be world peace.
The only thing I would add about crock pot cooking or braising in general is that you should sear all sides of the roast first. After that, anything goes.
I like to add juniper berries (crushed) and sometimes anchovies.
