  1. OK, I didn’t take History-of-StateHouses 101. Why do the Wis. pols have to hide? Why can they be dragged back to the Statehouse by the cops? Does this not abridge some basic human rights? You can’t be forced to come to work in the private sector, after all, you can just be fired.

  2. Biff,
I tried to move it to linear algebra and differential equations but no traction.

what did the border guard look like? I need to have that dude fired or worst as I gave strict orders to let the Mrs & Kids thru but not the hubby.

  3. Thanks cmu. The train from Toronto to Montreal is excellent and faster than driving (I believe it’s around 4.5 hours from downtown to downtown). But given Quebec is a province and not a city, I’m not sure if you are considering Montreal, Quebec City or somewhere else in the province.

Canadian trains seem to be more reliable than Amtrak and much cleaner. And, unlike Amtrak, they also usually arrive at their intended city in one piece.

  4. lech>it’s more of a class thing than a sex thing. There are many examples in history of there being a small gap between men and women in the higher classes while there is a large gap in the lower classes

Generally yes, but there’s counter examples too. Sometimes social mores are stronger in the ‘upper’ classes, the lower being more relaxed.

And I think the current use of ‘sexism’ is something that would not have been considered 200 years ago, as people mostly stayed in their assigned groups. The tension arises mostly when the power structure is being challenged..eg women/minorities rising in the corporate world or (previously) in union jobs, etc.

  5. the cool thing to do now is to date a broke ass and or unemployed loser if you are a chick making lots of money.

    *rob*

Or they could just get a cat and have less shit to put up with.
