“CGar, I did see your posts to me last night. I’m holding out for my tiara and cookies. As soon as I get those, you get my email address. :-)”
Yeah, that’s nice, but I’m afraid you’ll be waiting a long time then. I don’t do tiaras — that’s bxgrl’s Department. And I don’t do cookies — that’s cobble’s Department. (So much for my company manners.)
As Chief of Staff to the President, it is my job, inter alia, to:
–Scout gathering locations with President Champion (admittedly it’s not easy having to try the booze in so many bars, but I sacrifice where I must);
–Send invites and whip attendance for public (i.e., Official, Unofficial and Impromptu, in Snappy parlance) and private gatherings;
–Book Montero’s;
–Email Mr. B and Emily to remove problem posts (e.g., those that inadvertently reveal personal deets), and now, apparently, when people such as yourself are posting impaired 🙂 ;
–Make brownies for the Chinaman Brownie Whore;
–Maintain the Official PLUSA email/phone/address Directory;
–Keep the PLUSAs’ secrets; and
–Update the damn PLUSA Handbook.
I think that covers my job functions.
If you want your tiara and brownies, I suggest you stop at the PLUSA Offices, at 269 Baltic Street @ Court Street (http://bstoner.wpengine.com/brownstoner/archives/2010/03/green_giant_of.php). Don’t be alarmed if you see bikes being sold there – cobble partially sublet our space to finance her last trip to Jamaica; I shudder to think what she’ll do to pay for her trip to Key West.
Jessibaby, I effing LOVE living here. I never quite fit in the small town thing. I’m perfectly comfortable, content, happy, etc. The whole not needing a car thing has me especially happy. That and being able to walk to the grocery store, read during my commute, etc.
“randi…have you ever looked at any of the actual experiences that states have had when they raise tax rates?????
I bet not. The fact is that tax revenues typically decline. At some point, you make the economic decision to move. Moving to PA from NJ is not that hard.”
good point, i guess then the federal government has to start taxing millionaires higher- it is obvious that our current system doesn;t work especially if people can just move to the next state to avoid paying their fair share.

The times has a nice article on the repairs/enhancements being maid to the Gowanus flushing tunnel.
randi, the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.
You may be a socialist but fortunately this country is not.
It seems you also don’t know much about states rights and the separation of the federal government from that of the states.
Stick to food coops and that sort of thing

Randi, take a look at the table and view which states had high tax rates, many of those are in deep trouble.
