I have no problem with the TARP – it kept the institutions from failing, but that does not require the payment of bonuses! Dave, you’re always calling for sacrifice from govt workers and yeah, it would suck to not get a bonus because another dept messed up, but that’s what happens, everyone has to sacrifice – isn’t that what you’re always saying…?

that’s EXACTLY what happened in every other industry. and you expect the unions to be punished bc of the economic downturn.

The reality is that most of it has been paid back WITH INTEREST and the government (THE TAXPAYER) has made a handsome profit on the preferred securites that they bought. They should have lent out even more with hindsight.

i think as a country we would be a lot better off if we had less “big producers” trading a bunch of worthless shit to each other.

******SPECIAL DIET********
I have been on a diet since September.
It consists of the ff:
–Chocolate. All kinds to be eaten liberally, but concentrate on dark chocolate. Eat all chocolate
gifts. When offered a chocolate, take it, eat it,
say thank you.
–Cheese. This is included liberally in quiche, gratins, specialty cheeses to be eaten with bread, and the classic Italian cheese, red sauce recipes like lasagna,
eggplant parmesean, chicken parmesean, pizza etc.
–Italian cookies – anything with almond paste best.
–Wine. Preferably red, but any kind.
–Whiskey Irish whiskey best, Red Breast and Jamesons.
–Beer Wheat beer best
–Hamburgers
–Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Best with Smuckers and black cherry jam on whole wheat bread.
–Light on vegetables, but as desired.
–Fruit allowed
