In my experiences, I find that people of all political backgrounds are equally ignorant of scientific principals they claim to understand, although I do agree that liberals talk about it much more more.
I know a number of liberals who have science degrees, and while they can talk for hours about their field of study, they are not nearly so annoying about more general scientific topics.
They do tend to show an amazing lack of logic when it comes to discussing economic and social issues for people with rigorous scientific training.
“I am guessing there were 250 people there. 50-50 mix of men and women. I saw one South Asian and the rest of the crowd was white. Not even a Chinaman in site. The average age was around 29 and the average place of birth was between Ohio and Indiana.”
BHS,
The average human on the planet today is:
A 28 year old Han Chinese Male.
Rob – I knew you would appreciate my story, she was adorable – reallly chatty and looks good in person – but lost weight so she’s super skinny now – she was very friendly – but then again she knows my husband from growing up so I guess as he’s not a stranger -it was a different vibe really, you know?
Quick follow up on my discussion with Jessi yesterday:
I have a very good article here on the cumulative unfunded pension liabilities of the 50 states.
I actually understated the NY State liability,
not “over 125 billion” as I stated, but 132 billion according to the chart.
I also understated the cumulative debt saying it was over a Trillion. It’s actually over 2 Trillion!!!
These are contractual obligations to pay.
BTW, I do take offense when posters believe my posts come from right wing pundits.(i.e. Glenn Beck)
My ideas are my own and come from astute observation of the facts as I see them.
The one I’m most proud of on recent issues is my take on the Healthcare Reform bill.
I have heard no one encapsulate the problem as I have stated it succinctly here on the OT several times.
“The Healthcare Plan will fail because it is a massive entitlement program placed within the framework of a free market system.”
Proof that my hypothesis is correct is already becoming evident in the increasing number of states granted waivers from the onerous mandates of the bill.
White liberals love to talk about how much they are into science, but then it always turns out their knowledge is limited to random liberal op-ed pieces and that stupid Al Gore movie. They also attempt to hide behind the banner of science to support their own completely non-scientific beliefs, like claiming that science has somehow proven the non-existence of God, or saying snarky things about creationists even though they themselves don’t really understand evolutionary theory or the extent to which it is actually inconsistent with creationism.
I think this is a wonderful basis for our lunchtime discussion.
The Iranian Propagation Coordinating Council said on Wednesday, “The noble people of Tehran will take to Enghelab Square after Friday prayers with their solid and
informed presenceâ€. It said that those in the upcoming rally will “scream out theirhatred, wrath and disgust against the savage crimes and evil movements of sedition leaders, their Monafeghin (hypocrites) and their monarchist alliesâ€.

…dibs, it seems the world revolves around you. 😉
“White liberals love to talk about how much they are into science,”
I love generalizations just as much as I love profiling.

Is this the Persian equivalent to “Moonface?”
