  1. at the supermarket i go to, on the cash register monitor, it lists how much of your purchase your EBT (food stamps card) is covered by it. it’s really strange how it’s automatically set up like that, and also sorta annoying that when you see 3/4’s of your bill could be paid for. grrr.

it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that living on a diet of doritos and pepsi isnt healthy. i mean seriously, all kids ARE taught in grade school what foods are good and what foods are bad. you cant make someone not make bad choices. also people make bad choices for a variety of psychological reasons that no education in the world would be able to change.

  2. I have nothing against food stamps.

    This stuff can be taught.
Without some kind of bootstrapping program, all these do-gooder, great society ideas just perpetuate a cycle of hopelessness and poverty.

  3. From the $1 a day link, it was shown that you could survive on $30 a month. I do not see how you anyone can claim that for an additional $20 or $45 a month there is no way to work in fresh food or meat.

My family of 3 eats very well for $150 a month per person. I really don’t think the government safety net programs should be funded to maintain that level of food lifestyle.

I will also reiterate my statement that education on how to eat healthy on a budget should part of any food stamp program.

after your long ass holier than thou rant, it now feels more like splooge monday. and i do not steal tomatos, i merely put it out there that it is possible. and im sorry, since when are people entitled to fresh fruits and vegetables anyway? the government should just provide a bottle of multivitamins.

waaaaaaaaah where’s my expensive organic kale!?! barf
