Slopefarm, it’s everyone’s duty to point out political opinion pieces that masquerade as real news. That kind of thing erodes the value of the press.
Every article they write about a conservative local politician is a transparent hit piece. It’s disgusting to label stuff like that news. If you want to write an editorial, write a fucking editorial.
And banning people from commenting just because they disagree with them? For shame. I said some strong things over there, but was never abusive or threatening to anyone – other than pointing out when the paper’s staff and their supporters were being stupid, which happens often.
It used to be a lot more interesting when it really was tailored to various nabes, not just the Brooklyn Paper. (And, probably not coincidentally, before it was bought by Murdoch.)
jackal — so what, exactly, is eating you about the Brooklyn paper these days? You understand it’s free. local, and you don’t have to read it, right? So what did it do to get so deeply under your skin? That crazy mom figure out who you are and freeze you out of the PTA or disinvite your kid from a birthday party or something?
Murdoch has nothing to do with it Arkady. The suppression of ideas The Brooklyn Paper engages in isn’t the same kind that Murdoch might approve of.
“And they banned me from commenting”
There we go. Now jackal’s daily tirade makes sense.

Sucking donkey dick. lousy opinion pieces masquerading as news. banning jackal.

It’s lousy with opinion pieces masquerading as real news. It’s an offense to journalism.
And they banned me from commenting because I disagree with the ridiculous things they say, which is dishonest and against the open exchange of ideas.
