I never got round to checking out anything else by Heller but figured I’d give Closing Time a chance as it was billed as a sequel – time is rarely kind to writers.
Thanks for the tip – I’ll give that one a go.
One of the generally underappreciated things about NY is the creative talent that migrates here.
the chicken, Joseph Heller never matched Catch-22, but Good as Gold has some very funny passages as well. Many people who like Heller also like Kurt Vonnegut. The two of them were actually friends, which I found interesting. I used to live relatively close to Vonnegut on the UES before he passed away. I never saw him on the street but did hear him speak a few times. Very interesting man.
I don’t like to pick favorites….with anything.
Dave, I love Seven (one of my top picks).
I also love The Usual Suspects and anything by Hitchcock.
Which is why $660k condos will not be back at $150k.
My fav movies
1. The Imitation of Life (Lana Turner version)
2. North by Northwest
3. Vertigo

LOL @ BRG! I didn’t get around to your cauliflower recipe this weekend – was laid out by a nasty migraine 🙁
Loved Catch-22 as well Biff – didn’t like Closing Time anywhere near as much.
Favourite books would be anything by Douglas Adams.
