  1. Hitchcock is king. I miss the days of thriller movies that didn’t rely on blood and gore to get *sses in the seats. (And also touches of romance that didn’t rely on boobie shots and smooching that looks more like a tonsil inspection). Creativity amongst suspense movie writers/directors is sadly lost. I also love Double Indemnity and Witness for the Prosecution.

I used to see Spike Lee quite often, walking with his wife and kids, shoveling snow/cleaning up in front of his townhouse, etc. I love his work and he was always very nice during our brief exchanging of pleasantries, which made me like him even more. I think some people (not me) considered him a sell out by moving to a home on the UES and after selling his studio in Brooklyn.
