Cgar, I hate to disagree with you but have you had your Chagall authenticated? (Which one is it? out of which book?). I was invited to the art auction a while ago and they were auctioning a bunch of Chagalls and the auctioneer said that there are very very few out there that are real with Marc Chagall signature on there on it and they are extremely expensive and he has never seen one in his 20+ years as an auctioneer. The M.C. signature is more common but also fairly rare. Chagall never really signing his prints or lithgraphs and only did it if he was in the mood much after the creation of the print.
I hate to disagree with you about Chagall, but I have a signed Chagall in my living room (I thought you saw it), and he signed his full name. My father bought it for my mother as an anniversary present in 1970, she got it in the divorce, and I got it when she died. My brother wanted to sell it, but I told him he’d have to pry it out of my cold dead hands first.
CatGar – Having been in similar situations as self-employed, I’d think that if the bank has approved the co-op is likely to. Bank took a year for my re-fi even though I was reducing term & amount.
The supposed signed Chagall print on there is a fake. Chagall never signs his name on any of his paintings or prints and if he does do it (which is super rare) he only puts M.C. and never his full name.
