My dad was a big hunter, and I hated going hunting with him.
The reason is that I had to be perfectly still and quiet every time he saw or heard the slightest movement that could possibly be some animal to shoot.
as a pregnant woman I have to admit giving me special parking permits is a bit silly. I don’t mind walking. I just wish that people on the train would give up their seats to pregnant women more often. It’s not east being off balance during a train ride!
DIBS, they had those snowmobiles at a fancy resort, but we were told they are favored by hunters bcs they are so much quieter. I always pictured hunters using heavy duty weapons and didn’t really rely on sneaking up on prey, but what do I know.
benson– I would be curious to read what our first few presidents wrote in their SOTUs. Being framers, or friends of framers, themselves, they would have had the best idea of what the framers actually had in mind as to what Congress needed to hear. Now, it is 2 min of SOTU and 70 min of laying out the year’s agenda, whether it is Obama, one of the Bushes or Clinton. Worth reading for that but I don’t need to watch and see the theatrics. Excerpts in the paper the next day are sufficient for me.
