I think we do a pretty good job of boosting the Brownstoner name. We’re here day to day in micro. Our comments are intelligent and civil compared to other sites – plus the formatting and general feel is much more sophisto.

Many, many people have never heard of this blog or understand its function (which I think we do) – still a big mountain to climb for Mr. B. I wish he had more crime blotter stuff or “news” items, very, very strictly defined. It was a big deal when he added restaurant reviews for God’s sake!

Well said. I don’t see one comment on today’s thread that indicates a grudge towards Mr. B.’s success. Indeed, to repeat my comment above, as a person in sales/marketing, I am thrilled when I receive feedback from a customer, good or bad. It indicates a concern about my company.

As am I. And I’m happy Mr. B is making money. And I’m happy the Marketplace has taken off.

All I said this morning that started this discussion is that the content of the threads (other than the OT and MM’s threads) has been largely stale and boring for quite a while now.

And, say what you will about the PLUSAfication of the blog, randi, but, if it weren’t for the PLUSAs being here, I wouldn’t be on the site at all at this point (not that my absence would make a difference to Mr. B). And I’ve discussed with many of you that, were the site to disappear tomorrow, that would be fine with me, particularly since, at this point, I have become close “friends” with so many of the PLUSAs, and none of these friendships is dependent on the blog being around.
