Dave, I stand by my statement.
Spend the military money wisely, not on every hairbrained weapons package that looks really cool. Sometimes the Pentagon, especially in the weapons systems wing, resembles a bunch of overgrown teenagers in uniform, playing video games. Just because something is big and goes boom doesn’t mean it does what it’s supposed to do, or is worth the money.

DIBS, I’m in favor of continued spending on military R&D and general readiness.
I am even in favor of next-gen nuclear weapons development, which most Democrats hate.
What we don’t need is large bases in every state and every corner of the world, and we certainly don’t need to get involved with or start a new war every couple of years.
I’d like to see a return to the general situation between the two World Wars, when new systems and capabilities were being developed without a huge number of military personnel just sitting around doing nothing.
Yes, why does the Defense Dept keep buying weapons from companies like Lockheed-Martin? How about Joe’s Weapons down in Canarsie for a change?
