  1. “I was in Century 21 over the weekend. I stopped and looked around and said: Look at ALL this stuff. There’s a lot of stuff in this store. Do we really need all this as a society? Too many choices.”

    I had dinner last night with a guy who works at one of the big name hedge funds. He went on and on about how he doesn’t think QE2 will lead to inflation because what’s happening is more production, not more consumption.

  2. We had a Costco membership in Los Angeles, and we’ve kept it up for handful of food items that are much cheaper there than at Target, Trader Joes, or Pathmark.

    The place is filled with a bunch of “stuff” that no one really needs, and you can’t just assume that the bulk prices there are much better than you can find elsewhere.
