CGar, no design for Lego happen in San Diego (or anywhere in US). Most of the design is on the outskirts of Copenhagen in the middle of no where. We have 2 designers who used to work for Lego in Denmark. They got recruited right out of FIT Toy Design program and lived there for a little over a year and ran as quickly as possible. Good place to work but boring as hell, according to them.
Slopey, I prolly could have coped better with being robbed of a snow day had I only done my homework the night before.
And my mother’s approach was that we had to learn from our own mistakes, so, basically, don’t do your homework at your own peril.
The thing is, we lived in one of those CT ‘burbs with high property taxes, and a seemingly endless snow clearance budget, so the damn plows would be out there sanding before the first flake hit the ground.
ET- MM still hates Fedders and will never ever ever become a Republican.
Kens- you ought to give us the Brighton Beach tour- we’d love it! I’ve loved Coney Island since I was a kid and have spent quite a bit of time out there now because of the Wall of Remembrance. The Cyclones are a great community asset too. I was surprised that they didn’t have a bigger impact on Coney Island- at least not to date.
i actually picture Dona as a Hot Sugar Momma. Very wealthy, elegant, well dressed with her designer stilettos and handbags.
She has younger men. They scurry to her every whim. She discards them when done or bored with them.
She’s my idol.

I would love to be a lounge singer but as I understand it you have to be able to sing? Rats!
ET, you are spending too much time alone. You should have come out with us.

“Other careers I have thought of:
–Lounge singer — give me a chance to wear sequinned dresses.”
Even though this was posted by Dona, I think it might have to be the first GOTD ever awarded to a female.
Re whether I can sing, I will leave that up to CGar and etson re my Montero performance. They may not think I am ready for the caberet circuit.

I’ve always wanted to enter the competition for a job as a toy designer for Lego. But, I’m not really keen on moving to San Diego. Or Copenhagen.
