  1. Jessi- I have a trash chute and that’s where all diapers will go. I understand the diaper genie and who it works best for – but for me that would be gross!

ok well this OT has certainly turned into Park Slope Moms or whatver that site is..
    hA!

  2. Supposedly Manuka ointment, gel or soap is really good for dry skin.
I don’t get hummingbirds very often – once every 5 or 6 years. This year I have more chickadees than usual. Also have a returned pair of woodpeckers. Lots of finches (house & gold), sparrows, juncos, blackbirds, doves, mockingbirds, cowbird.

  3. 9 years old and only dry food? It’s a real possibility. Do you check to make sure the food is low ash? Their bodies change like ours do so what they could eat when they were younger, they can’t always continue to eat. My cat Moose who is 17 used to be able to eat anything (and he did). But the last few years he has a very sensitive stomach and it’s very hard to control. The cat food I recommended to RF though, has been great for him.

Another thing is that cats get arthritis and some days its worse than others and they are reluctant to climb into the box if it has a high door. I had to get a box with a lower entry for Moose for that reason too.

  4. But if kid has their own room, then everytime I need to change him in middle of night – I hve to bring him into my bed or crouch on the floor on a pad???????????????????????

    DCB- HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa

  5. I was a big fan of the Diaper Genie, but we lived in a place where the garbage was only picked up once a week. We had 2 – one for each floor.

In addition to being a sealed garbage can, it has a system where each diaper is twisted in plastic so that in theory the smell does not get out.

When moved to an apartment with a trash shoot before my son was potty trained, we got rid of the Diaper Genie.

I am environmentally conscious in many ways, but we never considered cloth diapers.

  6. Yeah – all friends are suburban mommies so they have genies but yeah if you’ve got a trash chute, that’s way better. It’s true though, the genies can still smell. I almost passed out in my friend’s kid’s room once – must have had a hole or something.

  7. if one lives in a bldg where you get rid of your trash daily via the trash chute, no freaking reason to for the genie. if you’re a house where you have to keep the diapers inside your house for a while before you take it outside, then there’s a small argument for it.
