  1. My friend when living in Thailand dated a local there. She didn’t mind that he had chicks on the side – at least she was his favorite. I think she had side stuff going too though.

  2. Dave, am I right? They look for subservient women and then they can’t believe it. I think that the American men find that there are certain things that are the woman’s domain and there are different rules. Ok, here’s one. An American man, Vietnam vet, settled in Japan after the war and married a Japanese woman.

He was in special ops. He was having a big reunion of guys who lived through hell together, having a big 25 years. They were all going with family and wives. He wanted his wife to come with him. She said, no go with one of your girlfriends (meaning friends) I’m busy. She really didn’t think this had anything to do with her. Her world was the house, the kids, and managing (all) his money. (of course he was telling this story complaining to two of his girlfriends, me and my next door neighbor).

  3. ET has a husband whenever she forgets she’s told us she’s divorced or single. She does have a relatively new baby, according to posts earlier this year. It’s like how my grandmother used to lie about her age until she got too old and forgot that she did.

  4. Dona, no need at all to apologize. Truth is what you said is probably accurate!

prezanon, I’m so glad at least one other person here has heard of that movie!! There were some amazing lines in it and Speed’s poem about civilization is brilliant. And how about this part:

At one particularly chaotic intersection, he rails about the explosive craziness of Manhattan: “Civilization has never looked like this before. This is ludicrousness and this cannot last.” Then, without skipping a beat, “The new Ann Taylor store on your right.”
