Long Island City is the only alternative solution in this case.
-One stop to Manhattan on the 7.
-Cool neighborhood with THE best views of Manhattan in the city. You cannot beat the view across the river to the Chrysler building and the 59th St. Bridge.
-Different price ranges with doorman buildings and excellent child care.
-Arts all over the place PS1, Isamu Noguchi, Socrates Sculpture Park.
-Very good restaurant scene as well.
-Quick ride over the Guiness Ave. bridge to Greenpoint, Williamsburg and the rest of Brooklyn.

  2. “Yeah but you’re just shacking up. Once BH gets you locked down into a long term contract, that’s when the fun begins.”

We are domestic partners, and I am on his health insurance. I’d call that pretty locked in/down, denton.

  3. A few weeks ago I stopped in Charlotte, NC en route to Dallas. My shoes needed a shine, so I went to the place in the airport. It was the best shine I have ever seen, by far, and I wish I could find an equivalent in New York.

First, he cleaned my shoes with saddle soap, which alot of places have stopped doing in NYC. Then, after applying the polish, he hit my shoes with a heat gun. I had never seen that before and asked him about it. He explained that it opened up the pores of the leather and allowed the polish to penetrate deep into the leather. Finally, he applied a layer of cream.

That shine lasted for WEEKS, looking like new.
