Benson, I am teasing you of course. I suspect that I agree with you but give me an example of a movie with an intellectual straightjacket. I would say that there are movies which have a POV which is accepted as true, as a kind of gospel and then the story develops from there, i.e. Million Dollar Baby (pulling the plug a good thing, quality of life highest good), Cider House rules (providing abortion services is a good thing), etc.
Give me an example.
Parents of Rutgers student who committed suicide intend to sue school.
is this a lawyer talking parents into it or is the school really to blame for this? suing those 2 kids who committed the crime is 1 thing. the school? cause it has the deepest pocket?
Benson, I should give you the email of a friend of mine who teaches in the University of California system. She lives in an alternative universe where political correctness has frozen thought. For one, I invented a minority status for her, so that she could get a leg up for a more stable position on faculty. She is Jewish of Eastern European ancestry, but I told her that she should list her nationality as a non-Han Chinese ethnic with political persecution reason her family relocated here. We were trying to figure out what kind of angle to use.
CGar, i find the OT full of Women On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown.

dave, I find there are anything but Ordinary People here in the OT, and you are Exhibit A to that given your very interesting Philadelphia Story.
cgar only pretends to be a lawyer, so he hasn’t a clause.
“We were trying to figure out what kind of angle to use.”
– try Sharon
CGar, you’re rather CLUELESS as to how the game works
