I posted this late in the OT yesterday but people found it useful. This is how one can use email to send a message to someone’s phone (it will go through to the other person as a text). I believe texting charges for the sender are avoided so it’s good if you don’t have unlimited texting (or pay for international texts) or you find it easier at times to send an email to someone’s phone. I’m sure the more technically advanced already knew this, but it was news to me.
“To send a text message via email, just substitute a 10-digit cell number for ‘number’ for each carrier below:
To take this to the next level from a productivity standpoint, I’d recommend creating ‘contacts’ within your email account so that you aren’t constantly looking up all of those cell numbers that you don’t have memorized each time you send an email.”
