Oh by the way, Benson, my brother in law, is a publisher in Florida (network of southern/southeastern newspapers).
He had lunch recently with Marco Rubio. He said that he found him extremely impressive — honest, extraordinarily articluate and with a deep understanding of the issues. He said that he wished he agreed with his politics (brother in law I think direct descendant of the Molly Malones) but he thought he was a pretty incredible guy. He didn’t have much good to say about Scott though.
Hi Benson. Yes, its a trade off I guess living in a place where you can only drive. It is an extraordinarily beautiful place there, but no way for kids to get around without parents.
You said a mouthful there. My older brother raised his kids in Wayne, NJ. My sister-in-law was a virtual full-time chaffeur, and it wore her out (not to mention their cars too).
My sister made an offhanded comment yesterday I thought was interesting. She’s in Florida and involved now as a children’s advocate for the court system. She lamented a case she worked on, saying that the father (mother druggie and out of childcare picture) would never expose his kids to the bigger world. Hell, she said, the kids won’t even be exposed to organized sports. Why? Because the father doesn’t have it in him to drive the kids around.
So in some places (like West Central Florida), that is a major component of parenting. Taking your kids around by car (this is BEFORE the teen years). And in my sister’s old job, as guidance counselor/assistant principal in a high school, one of the tragic things she had to deal with — chronically — was teen driving deaths.
We forget the advantages of urban population density.
Denton, OK albeit they were all 3 out of 5 stars vs 107 was 5 stars. doesnt mean the school is bad but just not stellar like 107. there are some houses near the prospect pkway that looks like decent prices but am wondering is it loud being close/next to the pkway
just finished cooking dinner!
anyone else still working?

m4l, check out the other schools down here. They’re supposed to be pretty good. Based on what I see of the kids, I would think so.
