“i had no idea they are still taking reservations at greenwood cemetary. i thought it was full and has been for like ever?”
rob, they’ve hired some surveyors to look in great detail for more more space. Also they’ve been aggressively trying to find the relatives of people who bought plots but never used them, and buying them back.
I was watching the Newshour the other night and they had 10 soldiers who had died, in that silent review they periodically do. I got the same chilling feeling as you did at the cemetery, denton. Several of them were only 20.
No you can still buy a plot there Rob. It’s expensive though. The areas up the hill on the Ft Hamilton Parkway side appear to have space. Don’t think there is much if any space on the 5th Avenue side.
“But really they are. They don’t have other income.”
Well, we don’t know that. But the income is not fixed, it increases. Yes, you can argue that the buying power is not increasing, but the income is. And the way COLA is calculated is quite controversial as it relates to retirees.
Dealing with COLA (reducing it) would be one of the best and easiest ways to address the deficit, and was one of the suggestions of the recent congressional committee.

Someone offered me a plot at Greenwood (for free/a gift) sometime ago. I declined, since I already have a plot with my family.
