The problem with working for foreigners is that none of them get that Thanksgiving isn’t just a one-day holiday. They schedule a million calls and meetings on Wednesday and Friday and expect you to do work on Thursday while you’re not eating.
um cooking with alcohol has nothing to do with the food, it’s just a great excuse for the cook to get drink as much as they want while cooking and not having their guests be all chary
Cooking with hard liquor never ends up being a great idea. Take penne a la vodka – what does the vodka do? It’s a white alcohol. The alcohol burns off during cooking and leaves behind a residue that consists of water and flavors that you really don’t want in pasta sauce. It always sounds kind of cool “oooh I can make lasagna with rum!” but ends up being meh.

Interesting recipe, but not sure it’s worth buying 6 bottles of vodka to only use a little of each..

well i think it would depend on the family.
i must say tho, there is something amazing about not being tethered to any kind of familial obligation for the holidays. 100 percent stress-free!!

martha has a recipe for turkey where it marinates in bourbon, seems like a waste of bourbon.

Why is the alphabet in that order? Is it because of that song?
