pete and eny, we had 25% layoffs and we were still making money, how about those folks. NYS is broke in every way, eventually it will come down to paying for govt employees or services(police, education) for taxpayers. Municipal defaults are just not a scare tactic, unless of cource NY has two books like MTA.
Tell that to the teachers Bloomberg has said he will ax in 2011 due to the reduction in state funds.
States need to be run competently. When there’s no revenue coming in, or at least less, the axe will and should fall on some people.
Unfortunatley for them, unlike in the real world, the union management won’t allow pay cuts, so people get fired. in the real world, people get fired too but usually the pay cuts come first to prevent that.
This is not difficult to understand for all you union supporters. THE REAL WORLD HAS HIT STATE & MUNI FINACES!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I hope you at least get to drive up for Thanksgiving Lech.
Once when I was doing a lot of sugar stuff and would go to Brazil, some guy suggested Thanksgiving as a perfect time to organize a seminar. NO. Sorry. NO. What’s wrong with these people?

When I lived in Hong Kong in 1192, the USS Nimitz was in town and I had a few guys over for Thanksgiving whom I met in a bar the night before.
