I know plenty of straight married men that don’t wear wedding rings (not wearing one seems more common in Canada and the UK than the US).
Don’t know any gay people that do, but I don’t have a huge sample.
Cobble, I would say the number one reason a straight, married man would not wear a wedding ring is because they find it uncomfortable or are afraid it would get caught on something when doing physical work.
Most straight men are oblivious to who is or is not wearing a wedding ring, and attach no importance to it either way.

Do you remember that show -“Change Of Heart” the “game” show” where a couple goes on and one of them goes on a date usually with someone hotter than their current partner and then they have the choice to stay with their partner or have a change of heart and go with the new hot person?
