  1. “is it good tho? am i gonna be totally nauseated cuz oprah is in it? like i said, she ruins a lot of good things.”

Hah rob, only just getting to the OT, but re that movie, I couldn’t have said it better myself.

  2. So……Why do some gay men(primarily in the media) who spend time consulting on fashion of others think they are AMAZING dressers themselves?

for example – I am watching Oprah in the background and Carson Kressley is on doing his fashion makeover shtick.

He’s wearing: Black tight trousers, caramel shoes, a broad checkered ugly brown with maroon plaid, a white checked shirt with royal purple and a purple tie

    WHY IS THAT OK???

  3. “and ooooooh im reading the best book right now, im assuming it’s a classic, the women of brewster place. it’s about the projects! i never gave this book any thought cuz i remember oprah (do not like her) starring in some tv version movie of this book i believe.”

That was possibly the most insulting film I ever saw. Only Oprah could have gotten away with it. There woulda been riots in the streets if a white director ever did a POS like that. Not to denigrate the book, or Gloria Naylor. Or maybe even the TV series. But the movie was dreadful.

  4. Dave, I had no idea you were so sensitive.

Unfortunately, jester, I think genocide is still possible. Especially in places and among people that most other “civilized” people don’t think are all that important.

  5. Hey all:

Union Market warning: I just stopped in on the way home (7th Ave) and figured I’d order a turkey. They had some elaborate pre-printed forms in duplicate, which they asked me to fill out name, addy, phone numbers, etc. Then they wanted me to write my cc number in the same book, as a deposit.

I’m like dude, no way will I write a cc number in your little book. I’ll give you a deposit, or pay you up front, or you can swipe my cc at the register, but no way am I writing down my cc in that book. Then he says no one will see it but us, so I say look, I have no idea what the chain of custody will be for this book, or whether you will just dump it in the trash when it’s finished, so just go get some boss person.

Which he politely does and they let me out with no deposit or cc #.

If you’re ordering stuff there, I definitely wouldn’t write my cc in a book like that.

  6. quote:
rob, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

that’s not true my dog has learned lots of tricks since ive gotten him. he has a working vocabulary of close to 30 words.
