He’s been instrumental in getting a lot of federal money for redevelopment in Harlem, as well as for some city and state projects. The mess they’re bringing him up on isn’t worth all the attention it’s getting. Until we see evidence of kick backs/pay for play and extortion, I don’t see his constituents caring all that much.’
I agree. Charlie messed up big time, but you have to remember his important role in history, especially black political history. Until Obama, he was the most powerful black person in elected office. He was chairmman of the Ways and Means committee, the committee that held the purse strings. I agree, also that hubris and pride brought him down, the downfall of many powerful people. He should have stepped down a few years ago, but unfortunately, powerful people seem to have a really hard time letting go of power, it’s like a drug. While not condoning his actions, Charlie did a lot of good, especially for Harlem, and I think it’s sad to see him last night on the news, practically begging for a lawyer, a broken man. Really sad.
“I thought that too when the US re-elected George Bush.”
SNORT!
dona, that was PRICELESS!!
Donatella, that WAS BRILLIANT! Kudos!

As a Committee member, I WILL veto ANY location that does not lend itself to name-mangling.
And it has to have a pool table.

Diety is an old synagogue that they made into a supper club. Didn’t know you needed to rent out as I thought it was open Wed-Sun.
