I read a bunch of the entries in your sister’s blog.
very interesting!
I think blogging about residency is a great idea.
If only for a couple of lines a day.
So much happens on any given day in a hospital
it’s no wonder they always have hospital dramas
on tv.
I’ve noticed that many female residents plan on
pregnancy during that time, the benefits are good
and after residency it’s not as easy to plan because
of all the professional obligations hitting you at
once.
It’s scary intubating a person. I had a few chances
at it as a resident.
You get about a one minute window to get the tube
past the vocal chords and down the right hole,
otherwise the patient is not breathing.
These days however they have a CO2 monitor that
tells the doc if the patient is getting oxygen.
in the old days there were more mistakes during
intubation.
Anesthesiologists literally hold the patient’s life
in thier hands once the patient is put out.
wait you let an alleycat on your SOFA? you might not have cat allergies you might actually have Parvo or Ringworm.
maybe im confused, is this just someone ELSE’s cat like a neighbor? or like an actual feral type cat?
*rob*
Cobble – Do you really have to deny her access? You’ll soon be working & out most of the day anyway. Just really Hoover rugs & upholstery to get out residual hair & you’ll probably be fine w/ the lessened exposure.
Sorry Pete, she was never one of my favorites, for some reason. I seemed to have gone through my teen years without her. Now, Janice Ian, who is depressing enough to make you contemplete suicide, had a great comeback album in ’74, which I played the grooves off of. “Seventeen” was the song of my sad teenage life.
You didn’t expect him to read it, lechacal???
And you didn’t expect him to find the juicy stuff???
You’re slipping!!!!!
It must be very embarrassing!!!!!!
OK- I really take that back about admiring her brutal honesty. She needs to step away from the keyboard and assess a few realities.
OMFG to that post at 3:10 by Rob!

Rob has never, even once, gotten under my skin until just now.
I am officially the last person on the OT Rob has never pissed off.
And then there were none.
Guh-ross Rob. Seriously.
Cobble, how bad are your symptoms without the anti-histimines???
No, you can’t throw the cat out!!!!
