What, that’s a really interesting question. Like almost everyone else, I’ve had friends affected by the economic downturn…not any family thus far, however (although the rest of my family either doesn’t work or is self-employed and they haven’t been affected at all). As for work, I’ve seen tons of colleagues been shown the door over at least an 18 month period. Some have landed in other positions, but most haven’t. I’m still employed in the same job I’ve had for a few years now.
I didn’t consider up to now if that is what may have made me change with respect to our dialogues. I am sure, at least on a subconscious level, I have realized that much of what you said was a lot more accurate than what others, including me, were saying or thinking. Additionally, I genuinely did get very sick and tired of our constant attacks and decided to stop it. When I saw you put the guns down when I did, I then realized perhaps we could actually be civil and maybe even learn some things from each other.
