Ok, thanks. Dangit…I don’t know anyone who has that membership card! There’s a book I want that I dragged my feet on going to the Strand to get (I hate Manhattan!) and now it’s out of stock there. I’ve run out of books to read and my brain is starting to itch in withdrawal!
No but good deals on used books including newish titles. Otherwise you are stuck with big box stores or online vendors. If you know someone who has a Barnes & Noble membership you can get a 40 percent discount on hardcover bestsellers, 20 percent off all other hardcovers, 10 percent off everything else. You don’t need the card, just their phone number and name to use at the register.
m4l, I think so but he was using another number. he didn’t remember her though but he was really good about calling because he was running late, showed up with stain samples, and was generally a really good guy to deal with.

And for a discounted price?
Thanks, rf. They stock new titles as well?
Snappy,
You can try the Housinng Works bookstore on Crosby St. just south of Houston, near the Broadway-Lafayette F-D-B-M/Bleecker St. 6 station.
