Legion, my plan is simpler, and like you I see some of it on the inside thru Mrs. D.
Single payer. You get sick, you go to the doctor and he gets paid by guvment agency. End of story.
That would take care of your malpractice problem also.
You combine medicare and medicaid. No insurance companies, no cobra. No 2400 page health plans. You would really free up hiring by biz and would release a torrent of productivity by employees doing what they want without having to worry about whether one employer has better health insurance than another employer. Plus companies could fire half of their HR staff.
There will always be doctors that won’t like the system so yes there will be a parallel system for rich people, like rich people have already anyway (Steve Jobs did get that liver)
You’d immediately solve the state retiree health care crisis. Big business would be free of the same obligations, and would be more competitive with big business in the rest of the world.
Naturally there would have to be a tax increase to pay for this, but people would end up with more money in pocket due to greater efficiency, and better results.

I need a visual on you. What famous person would you say you most resemble?
denton- no… I can read. I can tell the difference between “health insurance” and “unemployment”
Legion- great idea! Cash only. Except who has the money?
paying for primary care doctors is not a biggie. It is testing and procedures and hospitalization that will bankrupt you in no time.
Legion, I’ve heard that scenario before, and I’m all for it as long as everyone carries a major medical plan.
legion, You wouldn’t even take Mastercard? Trying to avoid taxes, are we?
I took a look a while back at health premiums by state. They seemed much higher in NYS than even nearby states as I recall. Must be a reason for that.
