  1. dibs,
Education is 1/3 the state budget,
the Education Sector will have to be
dragged to the table kicking and screaming.

There’s a film out about how the Teacher’s Unions
are holding back education reform and charter
    schools; Waiting For Superman.

  2. Yup, sounds a lot like Sarah. Bounced around from school to school without getting a degree.

“Kristi began her college education at Northern State, later transferring to SDSU and taking classes at Mount Marty in Watertown as well. The unexpected death of her father required Kristi to return to the family ranch full time. In recent years, Kristi has continued to pursue her degree in Political Science by taking classes at SDSU.”

  3. au contraire slopefarm,

why just earlier this week we were hearing some
    distinctly pro-Chavez talk.

you know there is a large contingent on the
    Left who seek “world approval”
they like to use terms like:
“the world is laughing at us”
    “the world hates us”
    “the world thinks we’re idiots”

I like to hold up a mirror to the world
once in a while. just to keep them honest.

  4. NOW HERE’S A SURPRISE………..

NYC Teachers Sue to Block Release of Performance Data

Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) — The United Federation of Teachers asked a state court to block the New York City Department of Education from releasing performance ratings tomorrow for more than 12,000 instructors.
The union filed a petition today in New York State Supreme Court, asking a judge to prevent the release of the data, said Dick Riley, a spokesman for the union. The lawsuit cites the prospect of “irreparably damaging the professional reputations of thousands of public school teachers,” according to a copy of the document e-mailed by the union.
News organizations requested the data, including teachers’names, under freedom-of-information laws.
