The millions of Africans brought to this country, as well as the Caribbean, as property weren’t overly thrilled by the Dutch and British either. Not to mention those two countries’ adventures in African colonialism, itself.
Which do you prefer? To live in the tin roofed house in Africa or to live in Brooklyn under current circumstances? If the latter, aren’t you being perversely thankful for the history of slavery?
I think THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH does a disservice to its constituency.
Rather than promoting a world of entitlements, handouts and cheaper rent, he should be promoting better education, a will to achieve and succeed and home ownership, which of course is the ultimate goal.
Why continue to pay rent to “the man” when you should be striving to be the man???
