The parental involvement is just incredible too. There’s an email list for each class, a designated class parent, and everyone seems to be involved in a postitive way.
BARF. talk about helicopter parents. newsflash people who own crotchfruit: there IS a happy medium between ghetto parenting and helicopter parents. why is this city so fucking extreme when it comes to things like that? a “designated class parent?” wtf.
Rob, I was over, last night, at my crown heights place for a board mtg and when I got out of there ~10:45pm, I was shocked to see tons of moonfaces walking their dogs, just strolling, etc.. as I passed each one, I called them, in my mind, moonface and giggled a little channeling ROB.
I keep being amazed at how positive the experience is at my kids’ school (PS 107). Every time I go there I just look around and think “wow, this is something that NYC is really getting right, this school, right here.”
Maybe I’m so impressed just because my own early education was so appalling. I don’t know.

Really this is just a big bright spot in my life. I usually go through my day pissed off and grumpy because I’m surrounded by so many useless mouth breathing dumbasses, but this is just something that people are getting right, and that makes me happy.

dibs,
Pretend you’re doomsdayer naysayer playa.
What would you do if/when the apocalypse never came?
I assume you meant to say “ever” not “never.”
Define apocalypse.
“Cuomo is calling for a state constitutional convention to change this structure. Paladino says he’s going to smash heads.”
Gee, let’s see—who sounds more reasonable? Hmmm?
” I usually go through my day pissed off and grumpy”
Nah, you lech? I never would have guessed. : P
IME ‘parental involvement’ is always part of the difference maker equation.

It is not the site with the problem, Mr. B, just some of the people on it have quite a few problems.
Mortgagegate gate will turn out to mostly be a lot of nothing.
Banks had a massive amount of confusing paperwork. They will do a better job of straightening it out.
In a few weeks, they will get start to go back to court, with all their facts straight, and the foreclosure process will start to work itself out.
